We've been in Victoria for two weeks and have had a great time so far. Gord and I have played with grandchildren Noa (5) and Sawyer (2 1/2), gone hiking, geocaching and exploring. We've walked on the beach here at Oceanside RV Resort many times and the dogs love the freedom to run and explore. While swimming Pogo was hit in the bum by a wave and bowled over. Quite a surprise for her! She hasn't gone back since.
John Dean Park was fun to hike with the family. Our grandsons did really well. We all enjoyed lunch at The Roost before the hike and as you can see we ate in an old bus. Chickens were wondering around outside, the sun was shining and a fine day was had by all. The view was spectacular as you can see from the photo above.
We spent this past weekend with Noa and Sawyer while daughter Lea and her husband Corry went to Vancouver. They enjoyed being kidless and we enjoyed staying with them. Had a picnic lunch this morning on the beach near their house, an easy 15 minute walk, searched for sea glass and watched two eagles in a tree. Took the boys to the Aviation Museum in Sidney and we all had a great time. Our guide was a retired military medivac nurse and really new her aircraft and history. Noa asked all kinds of questions and both boys were really interested. It was a treat to go inside a Viscount aircraft which was still being restored. Sawyer had fun on the two child sized and child friendly aircraft, one was a replica of a Harvard trainer. Both kids had a great time and after 1 1/2 hours Sawyer very politely asked if we could go home now, please.
Tomorrow, Monday the 24th of October, we head up island to visit our friends Chris and Brad in Campbell River and then on to Courtenay to visit my brother Kevin and Diana. Adult conversation!!!!!
Cheers all. Colleen
