Strolled through our campground last night and met a delightful couple from Notre-dame-des-Bois, Quebec. Jean and Frances are the same age as us and fortunately, Frances works as an English translator for Canadian Tire so we were able to converse quite well. Jean is a carpenter and he handcrafts screen doors which are beautiful and can be seen at lesportesdubonheur.ca for those interested. Frances is an artist as well and they have a little artisan shop where they sell handmade goods for others. They also sell antiques.
We hope to visit them next year when we travel across Canada. Jean's English and my French didn't always connect, but we had fun trying. Gord didn't have a clue!
We had a lot of fun together and as it rained all night and this morning they decided to stay here at Noah's Ark an extra night. Today we all went to the Museum at Three Valley Gap which is an amazing place. It has grown considerably since I worked there in the summer of '66 as a chambermaid! Strangely enough, the Cam Jammers Car Club of Vernon was there with about 17 or so cars in attendance. Gord was in that club about 45 years ago and met up with Ron Houston who he hasn't seen since then. Ron lives in Enderby now.
The day was cold and wet. There is even snow at the top of Mt. Griffin across the road from Noah's Ark Campground this morning. We move from here to Angie's on October 3rd as the campground closes. Hopefully, the snow stays at the top of the mountains. Retirement is highly recommended!!!
